""It's a really special spot. When you start at the top and move down the gently sloped ramp, you almost feel like a marble tumbling down, looking at art as you roll by. The slight slant plays with your sense of perspective and grounding.""
""A temple to beauty and grand beyond imagining—a repository of human creativity and beauty across cultures and time spans.""
""Anybody would recognize the grand hall with the constellation patterns on the ceiling. But his favorite part might just be the oyster bar a flight of stairs down.""
Varun Kataria's design inspiration stems from summers spent in Wisconsin, particularly at The Turk's Inn, a supper club he frequented with his friend Tyler Erickson. After the restaurant closed in 2013, Kataria purchased its decor and recreated the venue in Brooklyn. Living in New York for nearly a decade, he continues to draw from his love of design, highlighting iconic locations such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Grand Central Terminal as significant influences on his creative work.
