On April 5, 2026, a group of car thieves attempted to steal three vehicles from a parking garage in New York City. The NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding the incident. A parking attendant successfully closed the garage door, preventing the theft. The thieves used one of the stolen vehicles to ram through the door but crashed shortly after. They fled the scene in a gray BMW. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
