No, it doesn't come out in May. We're putting out our first song and video in May. The record is not coming out till September. We pushed it back a little bit. We just had to do a couple of other things to it. It's coming out in September, but the first song and video will be out in May.

The category's been going around social media for a bit, but there's even a domain exclusively for Cigarette Mom Rock. There, the meaning of the genre is described as a "feminine counterpart to 'divorced dad rock,'" but is also meant to conjure up images of your own hard-working '90s mom, driving you to baseball practice with the windows down and a cigarette in one hand.

In 'Bad Moons,' the unpredictability lies not in the lyrics like usual, where Mike Kinsella admits he's 'just two little boys in a trench coat' in that languorous voice he can't shed. Instead, the lasting impression comes from his bandmates' graceful turns through delicate post-rock. Aqueous harp and piano eventually give way to a fishing net of guitars, each minimalist line woven tighter than the next.

Exodus with Rob Dukes is a whole 'nother beast. "3111" marks the vocalist's return to the fold after last appearing on an album in 2010, and what a return it is. On a song that's about narco killings in Juarez, Dukes gives a sufficiently menacing performance that's startlingly unhinged. The other members of Exodus said Dukes gave "the performance of his life" on the band's upcoming album

Emo started in the 1980s and really came to be a widespread genre throughout the 1990s, but emo's massive breakthrough moment came in 2001, with a series of albums that would take the genre out of the underground and onto television screens, radio stations, festival lineups, Myspace top 8s and Hot Topics all across America and beyond. Like when grunge broke into the mainstream a decade earlier, it was the culmination of a sound that had been building for over a decade,

Sepultura have been making their way through a very long farewell since 2024 and now they've announced a 2026 trek that they say will be their final North American tour. They'll be joined by a pretty incredible batch of bands for this, including thrash legends Exodus, metallic hardcore veterans Biohazard (who are fresh off making a big comeback with last year's great Divided We Fall), and new-school death-metallers Tribal Gaze.

It's a true dream to put out a single on Sub Pop, and our new song 'Masks' hopefully honors the spirit of the mythical, sometimes mystical, city of Seattle. Thanks in part to the movie Hype, we have long been obsessed with Seattle, the American underground of the late '80s, and Sub Pop and their tools of world domination. Everything we learned about packaging Chat Pile, we learned from Sub Pop co-founders Jonathan Poneman and Bruce Pavitt.

Fresh off a trek with the B-52's late last year, the band announced a West Coast run aptly titled the Mutate, Don't Stagnate tour, and has now filled out its 2026 schedule with a batch of June dates in Eastern North America. All those shows will take place ahead of Devo's remaining Cosmic De-Evolution Tour gigs with the B-52's, in England.

Sugar, the alt-rock band Bob Mould formed after Hüsker Dü 's split, announced last fall that they were reuniting for just two London and New York shows in May 2026. Now that those concerts sold out, Sugar have plotted an entire tour to celebrate their big return - their first in over 30 years. The Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour is a doozy, bringing the '90s alt-rock band across Europe and North America. Check out their complete list of tour dates below.

The trek is routed around Napalm Death's festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville (May 7th), Sonic Temple (May 14th), and Maryland Deathfest (May 20th). Headlining dates run from May 8th in Tampa, Florida, through June 14th in Vancouver, with Deadguy supporting select shows from May 11th through May 23th, and Primitive Man opening certain dates between May 21st and June 14th.

The vision was to bring H.R. into a space he hasn't visited in a long time, a sphere he helped create and pioneer,

"When I read the fine print, it was 'an experience with REO Speedwagon's music.' It's none of the original members," Fletcher recalls. "I don't want to promote the show unless it's the real thing. I don't know why you would want to see that. It's just a cover band. To me, that's a little bit strange." He adds, with a sigh, "If there are no original members, who cares?"
