"What a good day, and what a stupid accident...again. Five years after [my previous nose break], my nose is f---ed up even worse [laughs]. As you see, it's even more cracked the same direction, and when I touch [my nose], my bones are broken inside."
Just to clarify things. I'm limping because I had a small intervention in the knee two weeks ago. Went in and took out what was not supposed to be there. Knee is great now. Thanks for all the support.
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson suffered a sprained right ankle in the first quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday night's game in Sacramento. Brunson limped off the floor at the 7:01 mark of the first quarter following an awkward step on a pass a minute earlier. He was initially deemed questionable to return but was ruled out at halftime.
Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton has been diagnosed with shingles and will be away from the team for a few weeks, coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday. Haliburton hasn't played at all this season due to the torn Achilles he suffered in Game 7 of last year's NBA Finals, but he has still been on the team's bench during games.
PHOENIX -- Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard Deni Avdija left Sunday's game against the Phoenix Suns because of a lower back injury and the team said he wouldn't return to the game. Avdija was listed as questionable coming into the game but decided to play. He lasted just one minute before leaving the court and going back to the locker room.
MILWAUKEE -- Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said new center Ivica Zubac's debut with the team could be delayed because he is currently on paternity leave and because of an ankle injury Carlisle said Zubac has been playing through since December. "It's kind of yo-yo'd a little bit," Carlisle said before Friday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. "My understanding from talking to him is that there's still something there that's not quite right. We're not going to put him out there until he's really ready."
