"I told him, 'These are the things I'm concerned about; these are the risks if we run out of medications, or if we run out of oxygen, or if we're not able to get you off the mountain in two or three days.' I would like to think that we, whether it's as physicians or patients, should be able to talk about risk in a little bit more of a realistic, humane way."
Documents released as part of an effort to bring greater transparency to Epstein's relationships with powerbrokers in politics, business and culture shed light on Summers's extensive correspondence with Epstein, whom he once emailed asking for advice on wooing women.

Known as ExStra, this is a permanent national funding programme designed to strengthen research at the nation's top universities and make them more competitive internationally. While the ExStra programme allows for up to 15 "Excellent Universities" (Exzellenzuniversitaten), only ten institutions have made the grade for the next round of funding.

This is the conundrum of elite chess. The stronger the players, the greater the odds of the match ending in a draw. As reported by the Harvard Crimson student newspaper, reflecting on the present challenges to institutions around accusations of intolerance and hostility to free debate, Garber came down firmly on the side of not debating (bold is mine): "I'm pleased to say that I think there is real movement to restore balance in teaching and to bring back the idea that you need to be objective in the classroom."
Alejandra's unwavering commitment to serving others is deeply inspiring, from her efforts to expand access to high-quality healthcare in historically underserved communities to her tireless advocacy for first-generation students,
The president raised the stakes on social media Monday night, saying Harvard has been "behaving very badly." He said the university must pay the government directly as part of any deal - something Harvard has opposed - and that his administration wants "nothing further to do" with Harvard in the future. The focus of Monday's discussions will be the university's endowment fund, worth about 4.2bn. The fund was set up to ensure the organisation's long-term financial security and is managed by the University of Cambridge Investment Management Limited (UCIM), a private company owned by the university. The company operates as a fund of funds a complex financial structure that means its money is spread across a wide range of sectors and overseen by an investment manager.
Student loans aren't to be taken lightly - the hundreds of thousands of dollars prospective lawyers take out for school can set back other milestone life goals like owning a home, having children and buying groceries. For years, relatively low interest loans from the government were a godsend for students that wanted the career opportunities law could unlock but lacked the capital needed to fund their educations.
The process of identifying candidates for Overseer and HAA elected director once again underscored the extraordinary breadth of experience and commitment found across the Harvard alumni community,
When I saw the Association of American Universities' rejection of the White House's "Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education," I knew that the institutions invited to join the agreement were likely to reject it, too. At a time when organizational communication seems to be the province of PR firms, it is still true that a missive from a group representing some of our country's most prestigious research institutions carries substantial weight in U.S. higher education.
Boston University School of Law is preparing to launch an AI certificate program in fall 2026 as part of a broader initiative aimed at training future lawyers in the ethical and effective use of AI technologies. The initiative reflects a growing recognition within legal education that AI is becoming deeply embedded in legal research, writing, and practice. Law school administrators say the program is designed not only to familiarize students with emerging tools, but also to address the ethical and professional challenges that accompany them.
