"If you're on the water, all you hear is the wind and the waves. And if you're on the snow, you hardly hear anything-just that track spinning through the snow at incredible speeds," says Taiga Motors cofounder and CEO Sam Bruneau.
DoorDash's investment in Also aims to develop and accelerate the deployment of autonomous delivery at scale, focusing on areas not yet fully solved for, including intersections of roadways and bike lanes.
Milton and an "investment group" purchased a downtrodden aviation company called SyberJet Aircraft late last year, and has spent the time since trying to turn the company around. That involves bringing in "dozens" of former Nikola staff, soliciting possible investors from Saudi Arabia, and spending a few hundred thousand dollars on lobbying, according to the report.
"We're essentially nine months away from testing an electric cargo plane, and then from there, we're hopefully a year and a half away from flying passengers on the plane," Louis Saint-Cyr, the president of Surf Air Mobility, stated.
For most of the twentieth century, airpower was one of the most costly components of military strength. Fighter jets, strategic bombers, and advanced missile systems necessitated massive financial investments, highly skilled personnel, and sophisticated logistical support networks. Only great military forces had the ability to sustain these capabilities.
Rad Power Bikes, a buzzy electric bike company that raised nearly $330 million in venture capital, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December. The company had struggled for months prior to its bankruptcy filing, and had warned employees it might have to shut down without new capital.
KeyBanc lowered its price target to $295 from $330 and kept its Overweight rating after adjusting estimates post-earnings. The firm attributes the target reduction to recent changes to the SCAR program and timing in contract awards. Despite the revision, KeyBanc's broader conviction on AeroVironment is unchanged: the firm maintains that AeroVironment is positioned to capitalize on the proliferation of UAS/cUAS and increased government spending in defense and space-related programs.
For a pre-revenue company burning through roughly $126 million per quarter in cash, the narrative around FAA certification progress, Hawthorne Airport integration, and 2026 guidance will matter far more than any headline loss figure.
Rivian said it expects to sell between 20,000 and 25,000 R2s this year, the first of which will head to customers in June once production begins. That means it has six months to reach that goal. Even if Rivian hits the low end of that target, its sales rate will outpace every other comparable electric vehicle at or under $60,000 aside from the Tesla Model Y.
Passengers will be able to book an air taxi ride through the Uber app in Dubai before the end of 2026, the company said on Wednesday. The option will use flying electric vehicles created by startup Joby Aviation. Joby's aircraft can fit up to four passengers and are flown by commercial pilots, the companies said. Joby will operate four landing locations, or "vertiports," in Dubai, connecting Dubai International Airport with a mall, a hotel on Palm Jumeirah, and the American University of Dubai.
The robotaxi takeover - assuming they take over - will also be a real estate story. As Waymo, Uber, Tesla, and other competitors race to flood the streets with fully autonomous cars, robotaxi operators will need to find places to park, charge, and maintain their vehicles. Voltera, a charging infrastructure company based in Palo Alto that has partnered with Alphabet-backed Waymo, is buying up real estate now to prep for the AV boom.
Urban logistics is entering a new era where practical technology drives meaningful results. Today, more than 55% of people live in cities, and urbanization is expected to rise to 68% by 2050, placing intense pressure on delivery networks to keep up with growing demand. U.S. e-commerce is projected to reach $1.1 trillion in sales by 2026, heightening expectations for faster and more reliable last-mile service.
The experience of booking an air taxi will be much like reserving a four-wheeled Uber. In the app, after entering your destination, Uber Air will appear as an option for eligible routes. The Uber app will book a flight and an Uber Black to pick you up and drop you off at a Joby "vertiport."
There's just so much to do. So, the advances that we've gotten over the last five to ten years have been spectacular. We love the tools. We use them every day. But the question is, is this the whole universe of things that needs to happen? And we thought about it very carefully and our answer was no, there's a lot more to do.
Hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial vehicles are not a new concept. Drones running on hydrogen fuel have been in experimental forms for over a decade, but this is for the first time, a drone has been fully designed and deployed on full-scale combat duty in an active war zone. The drone is a hybrid version of the Raybird USA developed by Skyeton and is deployed with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
FireDrone is an aerogel-covered that can help firefighters in rescue missions by surveying for victims inside burning buildings. The assistive device aims to be the 'flying eye' in extreme environments so humans can be sure of who are and what is inside a site before going in. The FireDrone flying machine resembles a small quadcopter with its four arms and spinning propellers, but unlike regular drones, the parts of the device are built to survive high temperatures.
Palmer Luckey's eyes light up, and he talks a mile a minute, when discussing his company's new recruiting event: the AI Grand Prix. This is a drone flying contest with a twist. Rather than humans operating drones, the drones must operate autonomously. The humans will be tested on their software-writing skills that cause the drones to outfly their competition. There are prizes ranging from a $500,000 pot to be spilt amongst the highest-scoring teams,
"We were completely controlling the drone from the helicopter. For us, it's of course unique. Today, what we performed is a world first," Gerin-Roze told reporters on Thursday at the Singapore Airshow. The software is part of Airbus' contribution to the surging industry for drone wingmen, which the world's biggest aircraft manufacturers are betting will be the future of air warfare.
Rivian's fourth-quarter and full-year earnings did precisely that. My takeaway: Software, and specifically its technology joint venture with Volkswagen Group, was the company's savior in 2025. It will also buoy the company into 2026 (another $2 billion is expected from VW Group) as Rivian launches its most important product to date: the lower-cost R2 SUV. The company's earnings also provided a progress report on its bid to lower the cost of goods sold per unit.
Antigravity's ambitious A1 360-degree drone is 15 percent off through February 9th. The first-ever discount on this model is available across all bundles, with the most affordable option dropping from $1,599 to $1,359 at Amazon and Best Buy. Pricier bundles are also discounted and include accessories such as a carrying case, additional replaceable drone wings, and extra batteries. The Antigravity A1, Insta360's first drone, really impressed us during our hands-on with a prototype in December 2025.
