Metal music has reemerged as a commercial force with new bands like Bad Omens gaining significant popularity.
The L.A. band gets somber here, restraining its metalcore tendencies in favor of a more pop/R&B sound. A jittery breakbeat underlies the entire five-minute track as instruments and textures cascade in and out of the mix. The emotive singing of Noah Sebastian also remains a constant alongside the aforementioned breakbeat, and he keeps his voice tempered, never quite rising to a scream.
