This Valentine's Day, Brian Head Resort, Utah, is swapping roses for chairlifts with Love Lift Speed Dating, happening February 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Blackfoot Chairlift. Here's how it works: singles simply opt in at the lift line and get paired with a new seatmate every ride. That's six glorious minutes to talk powder preferences, favorite après spots, and whether pineapple belongs on pizza (critical compatibility test).
After receiving 10 inches of snowfall in the last week, Brian Head Resort became Utah's first resort to open the 2025-26 ski season on Friday, November 21. The resort was originally scheduled to open on November 7 and subsequently postponed season opening twice, first to November 15 and then to November 21. The delayed opening followed weeks of unusually warm weather sweeping across the southern Rockies, delaying season opening in both Utah and Colorado.
Few ski resorts have quite the same jaw-dropping views as Brian Head Resort. Located in the southwest corner of Utah, Brian Head sits high atop the Markagunt Plateau and offers unbelievable views of the desert and red rock vistas stretching toward Zion and Bryce Canyon. Split up between two mountains, Brian Head serves everyone from beginner to advanced. Brian Head is now scheduled to open on November 21st at 10am, if conditions permit.
