The Chinese New Year has been marked with a colourful parade in central London featuring, dancing, music and dragons. It marks the start of the Year of the Horse, which began on 17 February. The first day of the Chinese New Year falls on the new moon which appears between 21 January and 20 February every year. The London parade began in Trafalgar Square before moving up Charing Cross Road to Shaftesbury Avenue and then into Chinatown.

My dad would be up at dawn, not to prepare some elaborate feast, but to set up the treasure hunt he'd created using clues written on the backs of old envelopes. Each riddle led us kids to another spot in the house, building anticipation for modest gifts hidden in creative places. NYC Pride, which organizes the main Pride March in New York City on the final Sunday in June, unveiled its 2026 theme, For All of Us, which is inspired by a quote attributed to the late Marsha P. Johnson. This year's theme aims to pay tribute to LGBTQ trailblazers like Johnson while also emphasizing the need to support marginalized members of the community, according to NYC Pride.
