More than 80 human rights and sport advocacy groups have called on the International Olympic Committee to abandon reported plans to introduce universal genetic sex testing for female athletes and impose a blanket ban on transgender and intersex competitors.
The New York City Triathlon was one of the sport's most iconic races. Debuting in 2001, it quickly became a bucket-list event for age-groupers and pros alike: a swim in the Hudson River, a bike up the closed West Side Highway, and a run through Central Park. At its peak as part of the Life Time Fitness Series, the race attracted up to 4,000 participants - and top names like Olympians Greg Bennett and Emma Snowsill.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif says she will comply with genetic testing requirements to be able to participate in competitions as long as the tests are conducted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Khelif won gold in the women's welterweight division at the Paris Games in 2024 during a gender dispute over her eligibility after the International Boxing Association disqualified her from the 2023 World Championships based on sex chromosome tests.

Truth be told, I was railroaded into it by my Football Weekly associate Max Rushden, who publicly challenged me to run the London Landmarks Half-Marathon.
The six-day event featured over a dozen races, taking place from December 28, 2025, to January 3, 2026. Everything was run on a 1.42-mile loop. Sierra DeGroff was the women's and overall six-hour winner with 43.7 miles. Women took the first four overall finish spots, and Andrea Mucchietto was the first man with 36.6 miles in fifth place overall. Six-day world-record holder Megan Eckert was the women's and overall 12-hour winner with 81.2 miles. Men's winner Matt Heacock totaled 70.5 miles over the fixed time.
