A big rig traveling on Virginia Street lost control, hitting a fire hydrant and causing flooding in the area before crashing into two cars and a house.

The crash occurred on the northbound 215 freeway near Eucalyptus Avenue around 7:30 p.m., resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.

A car collided into a building in San Francisco's Chinatown on Friday morning, injuring two pedestrians, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

"It was quite chaotic," mountain rescue operations manager Erik Lidström said in an interview with Swedish media outlet SVT.

The fire escalated throughout the morning, ultimately reaching fifth alarm status by 7:30 a.m. One person was found dead in the apartment where the fire originated.

Teesa Mpagi leaped off the bus without hesitation to provide aid, staying by the victim's side, holding her hand, calling her husband for support, and offering comfort until emergency vehicles arrived.

A car went into the water at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor Monday afternoon. Two people were in that car and both were rescued -- a bystander was able to dive in and pull one person out. That person was taken to the hospital. An emergency dive team was deployed to the scene and rescued the second person, who seems OK.

More than 35 million people from the Florida Panhandle through Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and parts of New York are under tornado watches. That data gap means that deep learning models, which are increasingly capable of forecasting the weather, aren't able to predict flash floods.
