Dehumanization, as a psychological and socio-political process, represents one of the most destructive phenomena in human history. It involves the denial of attributes that define individuals or social groups as human, thereby devaluing their moral status and legitimizing violence and cruelty against them.
Now they're trying to arrest me simply because I do not believe in gay rights and abortion. I had the cops called on me. A SWAT team showed up, and I'm now engaged in a shootout. My state has been the number one abortion and gay rights state in the entire country and I've been segregated against for my beliefs.
The hacktivist threat in the Middle East is highly lopsided, with two groups, Keymous+ and DieNet, driving nearly 70% of all attack activity between February 28 and March 2. In all, a total of 149 hacktivist DDoS claims were recorded targeting 110 distinct organizations across 16 countries. The attacks were carried out by 12 different groups, including Keymous+, DieNet, and NoName057(16), which accounted for 74.6% of all activity.
This was not random violence. This was a planned attack motivated by extremist ideology and inspired by a violent foreign terrorist organization. With this, she promptly raised the profile of both the suspects, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, and of ISIS itself. It hardly seemed to matter that no evidence has surfaced that directly ties these men to the larger movement.
The Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ, today known as the Peoples Temple, was a U.S. new religious movement organization existing between its founding in 1955 until its dissolution in 1978. Founded by Jim Jones in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Peoples Temple spread a message combining elements of Christianity with egalitarian politics. Through the years, Jones tightened his control over the group, first by requiring members to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together as a Temple "family" rather than with blood relatives.
The centre found that on X alone from February 28, the first day of the war, to Thursday, users posted more than 25,300 Islamophobic remarks. Due to clashes between Syrian interim government forces and the Syrian Kurdish militias that controlled much of the northeast, the prisons and detention camps holding "Islamic State," or IS, members changed hands. In the ensuing chaos, some IS members and their relatives escaped from detention camps. Others were moved to Iraqi prisons. Between January 21 and February 12, the US military helped transport more than 5,700 prisoners out of Syria.
Within two years, it had spread to every continent. Members - a lot of them teenagers - were finding kids as young as nine on Minecraft and Roblox. They'd befriend them, earn their trust, then trap them. They forced children to hurt themselves on camera. To hurt animals. To do things I'm not going to describe here. That kid from Texas is serving eighty years now. But 764 didn't stop. It splintered and kept growing.
Under Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has gone on an explicitly fascist zag as it seeks to recruit 10,000 additional U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Robert Reich and others have detailed in recent weeks how ICE is now actively seeking to recruit extremist young men from gun shows, Ultimate Fight Club venues, rodeos, martial arts centers, and other haunts for men who tend to have a far right political vision.
I lived in Argentina in the mid-1980s, just after the fall of the brutal military dictatorship that ruled from 1976 to 1983. The country was taking its first, shaky steps back toward democracy. It was a time of great hope, but also of grave uncertainty - because while the generals were gone, the political culture that enabled them remained. Like most of the nation, I was captivated by the pioneering trials of the military generals that promised to restore justice.
OPINION - The global terrorism landscape in 2026 - the 25 th anniversary year of the 9/11 terrorism attacks - is more uncertain, hybridized, and combustible than at any point since 9/11. Framing a sound U.S. counterterrorism strategy - especially in the second year of a Trump administration - will require more than isolated strikes against ISIS in Nigeria, punitive counterterrorism operations in Syria, or a tougher rhetorical posture.
On a gray Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C., with the nation's capital bracing for a forecast snowstorm expected to arrive Sunday and local officials urging residents to prepare for possible disruptions, Vice President JD Vance stood on a stage near the National Mall and delivered a blistering address attacking abortion rights and LGBTQ+ equality as existential threats to the nation.
A 21-year-old social media manager received a major promotion within President Donald Trump's administration despite raising concerns over his alleged white nationalist rhetoric, according to a new report. The New York Times reported on Thursday that 21-year-old Peyton Rollins was brought over to the Department of Homeland Security this month to help run their social media. This follows Rollins making a splash with his social media work over at the Department of Labor, work that caused concern among a number of colleagues.
But the ones who do recognize it see that as a hint, the same kind of hint as the, as you know, stand back and stand by. And then you put those people in the field, not this is not people coming to Washington to protest. These are people being placed in my neighborhood doing horrible things to my neighbors.
