"Nostalgia is my favorite feeling," said Madison Feely '26, who referenced childhood classics including "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Little Women" in her collection, "Homebody." She emphasized that her designs celebrate a well-lived childhood, honoring the authors and illustrators who allow her to relive it each time she opens their books.
It's been blacked out, punctuated with vignettes of props: a brass bedstead with seedy, dust-ruffled satin eiderdown, an American Lowrider, a bus-stop, a Bill and Ted-style telephone booth and a bunch of others. Rather than a catwalk show, with those scenes and a floor demarcated with white lines that recall the arthouse staging of Lars von Trier's Dogville, it looks like a film set.
On the vibrant evening of September 1st, Mode Suisse once again illuminated the runway at Kunsthaus Zürich with its enchanting format, Mode Suisse & Friends 2025. A heartfelt thank you to the creative makers for inviting us to this splendid event, where 22 talented participants, including 13 exciting newcomers, showcased their latest collections, transforming the Pfistersaal into a cinematic fashion experience.
