The Loyola Marymount Lions (16-8) bring a four-game winning streak into a home matchup with the Gonzaga Bulldogs (19-7), who have won five straight. In its most recent game, Loyola Marymount beat Pepperdine on Thursday, 72-62. Jess Lawson scored a team-high 17 points (and contributed four assists and eight boards). Gonzaga was victorious in its previous game versus San Diego, 66-56, on Thursday. Lauren Whittaker starred with 19 points, and also had 12 boards and one assist.
With Gonzaga down double-digits to underdog Seattle on Jan. 2, the veteran did not waver. He helped the Bulldogs claw back in the second half, making a game-saving block on the perimeter to force overtime before finishing with 19 points.
