Geoff Rickly began Thursday's set in the balcony, giving the first public performance of No Devolución track 'Empty Glass', which had previously been performed during a 2021 livestream set.
The song possesses a driving and straightforward set of verses, a wide open and gothic chorus, and a sudden 6/8 groove for the solos that feels right out of those classic King Diamond albums.

American Football's highly anticipated LP4 arrives on May 1 via Polyvinyl, and after sharing the 8-minute first single, "Bad Moons," they've revealed a few more details about the album. Panopticon and Catharsis are doing a short co-headlining East Coast tour together this fall! The tour kicks off in Boston on October 8 before hitting Brooklyn's Market Hotel on October 9 and then shows in Philly and Baltimore. Tickets go on sale Friday (3/6).
Terror remain a veteran hardcore band that is deeply involved with the current hardcore scene, and every band opening this tour is a band that's shaping the future of hardcore as we speak: LIHC ass-kickers Pain of Truth, Baltimore's charismatic End It, and LA youth crew revivalists Start Today.
But mainly, it's the result of the New Orleans duo's unique stamp on the sound of underground punk: Honeywell, often in a leather vest, howls with a pack-a-day voice over racing, lo-fi guitar, while RJ Santos, always sporting a dapper suit and tie, plays pedal steel. It's garage punk with an old-school country twang; as their personality seeps through the sound like dye, it takes on the color of music's sepia-toned past and technicolor present.
Home Front, the Edmonton, Alberta band formed by Graeme MacKinnon of Canadian hardcore band No Problem and Clint Frazier, who used to lead electro-rock group Shout Out Out Out Out, will be on tour this spring in support of their third album, Watch It Die, which was released last November. The first half of the tour is supporting Angel Du$t with Béton Armé and Odd Man Out, and the second half is with Bootlicker.
For a pair that specialize in giddy, girly EDM and brainrot electroclash-think Crystal Castles and 100 gecs by way of Nicki Minaj's "Starships" and Bangerz-era Miley Cyrus-meeting on Minecraft is perhaps the only logical origin story. And the best tracks on Beautiful Disaster, the duo's new mixtape, evoke the same feeling as the online realm where they first found each other: neuron-frying yet ecstatic and all-consuming.
"Certainty" is certainly one of the best songs by Black Veil Brides to date. Forget that this is the same band from their 2010 debut album We Stitch These Wounds, because this doesn't sound anything like that, nor is it remotely screamo. Rather, we get high caliber melodic metalcore with some nice alt-rock inflections via the clean singing of vocalist Andy Biersack. He sounds equally strong during the harsh, chuggy parts here, as well.
On the older records everything was self-recorded, home-recorded, on a laptop or on tape, and always with really limited resources," Sam Ray says. "I think we became known for that but it was also very limiting to be seen as a lo-fi band.
"Butterfly is the spring thaw after Beast," they say. "Country fair rides, angels and pixies, talismans, an impulsive fling in a small town, coyotes, fawns - we wanted to contrast the wintry rock of Beast and take listeners on a sonic road trip of different perspectives and in-between places." They've shared a new single, "Worry Angel," where Fraser and Reid's voices intertwine around each other in sinuous harmonies.
When Braid broke up, guitarist/secondary vocalist Chris Broach formed The Firebird Band, and the remaining three members - frontman Bob Nanna, bassist Todd Bell, and drummer Damon Atkinson - recruited guitarist Mark Dawursk of Alligator Gun and continued on as Hey Mercedes. They recorded it with Jawbox's J. Robbins, who had also produced Braid's classic 1998 swan song Frame & Canvas, and in many ways, it picked up where Frame & Canvas left off.
War on Women have officially announced their fifth album, Time Under Tension, out May 8th via Smartpunk Records, while also unleashing the single "Messages Unsent." Dream Fatigue is a new-ish Massachusetts band launched by former Fleshwater/Vein drummer Matt Wood and fronted by Jonali McFadden, and they make shoegazy alt-rock that's not too different from what Matt was doing in Fleshwater. They released their debut LP The Lady In The Sky in 2024, and now they announced a new seven-song EP, No Requiem, due February 13 via DAZE ( pre-order).
For years, Angel Du$t was Justice Tripp's balmy reprieve from Trapped Under Ice. When he fronted the Baltimore hardcore band, he cursed out ice queens and swore he'd " stay cold forevermore" to protect his heart. These tormented songs were molded by the trauma and violence that Tripp endured during his hardscrabble upbringing. Angel Du$t's 2014 debut, A.D., with its pink cover art and perky pop-punk sound, showed that he was learning to leave the past behind and warm up a bit.
Fresh off a trek with the B-52's late last year, the band announced a West Coast run aptly titled the Mutate, Don't Stagnate tour, and has now filled out its 2026 schedule with a batch of June dates in Eastern North America. All those shows will take place ahead of Devo's remaining Cosmic De-Evolution Tour gigs with the B-52's, in England.
