As congestion at major hubs continues to intensify - particularly for frequent business class travelers who often split their flying between commercial flights and business jets - we're seeing a growing shift toward these clients consolidating more, if not all, of their flying through XO.
In January 2027, British Airways is launching brand-new flights from London Heathrow Airport straight to Melbourne - aka the city that crowned best on the planet right now. BA's new route starts on January 9 2027, so there's still plenty of time to save up.
I spent the first night huddled on the floor next to my bed, worried about the windows exploding- so you hear alerts going off, you hear explosions in the sky. It's hard to know what's going on. But it's really unsettling.
The UK Home Office said in a statement on Tuesday that an 'emergency brake' on visas has been imposed for the first time on nationals from four countries, following a surge in asylum claims by students on study visas. London remains one of the world's most competitive business environments. From Canary Wharf to the City, ambitious professionals are constantly seeking ways to differentiate themselves in a market defined by global capital flows, technological disruption, and international competition. In this context, studying business abroad is no longer simply an academic decision - it is a strategic career move. As UK-based professionals navigate post-Brexit realities, shifting trade relationships, and increasingly international teams, many are looking beyond Britain to strengthen their global positioning.
As we look ahead, one of the air-travel trends worth watching has to do with airport lounges - and, more specifically, who can and can't access them. Later this year, American Express is updating its policies to make it a little harder for some travelers to access its Centurion Lounges. That's in keeping with broader trends in the industry, which makes it all the more interesting to see an airline going in the opposite direction.
OAG's Megahubs 2025 ranking reveals how well an international airport has connected you to the rest of the globe last year, based on a simple but telling comparison: These unique rankings are generated by comparing the number of scheduled connections to and from international flights with the number of destinations served from the airport.

An airport transfer is a transportation service where the driver meets you at the airport and takes you to your destination or vice versa. When you have jet lag, airport transfers ensure you bypass the arduous task of flagging down and riding in uncomfortable cabs. You can schedule a transfer to and from the airport before your flight, so that professional drivers will be there for you when you step off a plane.
It might be only 40 minutes by ferry from Brisbane, but when North Stradbroke Island, or Minjerribah, comes into focus - a soft line of bush, dunes and open water - and you roll off the barge, the city skyline feels like a sci-fi memory. It's no wonder that the locals and in-the-know Brisbanites guard this island with a conspiratorial hush.
"Stopovers allow people to turn what used to feel like 'dead time' into a destination in its own right," says Whitney Haldeman, founder of the luxury group travel company, Atlas Adventures. "Done well, a stopover can end up being the unexpected highlight of the entire trip." Sometimes, booking an extended layover can even save you money. "I often recommend booking a round-trip transatlantic flight into London," she says.

Searching for a Taxi Near Me just hours before departure may work occasionally, but for executives heading to important meetings, uncertainty is not an option. Public transport delays, airport parking fees, fuel costs, and lost preparation time all add up. For SMEs managing tight budgets, these inefficiencies are more than inconvenient-they affect both financial performance and professional reputation.
