Scott Quigley was indicted on a charge of negligent motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence, following a crash that resulted in the death of Angelo Schettino, a 37-year-old man with developmental disabilities.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 with a thin build and short dark hair, according to a statement from the Revere Police Department. In one of the incidents, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket and light-colored jeans.
A car went into the water at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor Monday afternoon. Two people were in that car and both were rescued -- a bystander was able to dive in and pull one person out. That person was taken to the hospital. An emergency dive team was deployed to the scene and rescued the second person, who seems OK.
Provincetown Police and Fire Departments responded to MacMillian Pier for a report of an unresponsive person on a boat in the harbor. When first responders arrived, officers entered the boat and found a second unresponsive person. First responders removed both people and transported them to Cape Cod Hospital.
Investigators have identified a natural gas leak as the cause of a devastating explosion and fire that destroyed a Taunton home and seriously injured two people Wednesday morning. Fire officials are still determining the exact location of the leak and cause of ignition due to 'the catastrophic damage caused by the explosion and subsequent fire.'
The alarm was raised just after 9am, today, January 15 when the Coast Guard's Marine Rescue Co-Ordination Centre in Valentia received a call from Spanish counterparts in Madrid requesting their assistance for a Medivac for two injured fishermen. The men were on board the boat Novo Alborada which was approximately 30 miles southwest of Valentia. It is understood the men were injured when a rope snapped.

The announcement came from the state's Division of Marine Fisheries at the start of the year. DMF said that water quality has improved significantly enough that both commercial and recreational shellfishers will be allowed to harvest shellfish for personal use or direct sale to consumers.
A South Dennis man was sentenced on Wednesday after threatening to murder a federal official and their family in March 2025, federal prosecutors said. Michael Mahoney, 64, was sentenced to two years of supervised release with three months of house arrest and must pay a $5000 fine, the office of the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Leah Foley, said in a press release.
Prosecutors said the company was using a large soil screener, weighing nearly 36,000 pounds, to process soil and other materials. Part of the machine, known as the tail conveyor, weighed about 1,500 pounds and could be raised or lowered during operation. Court records show the tail conveyor had unexpectedly closed on several occasions in the years leading up to the deadly incident, and that the machine had previously suffered a ruptured hydraulic pressure line.
Troopers from the Danvers Barracks responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on the ramp from I-95 North to Route 1 North at Exit 70, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police. Police said there were three separate crashes on the ramp, involving 12 vehicles in total.
Jason Vasquez, 51, of New Bedford, was found dead in the harbor Jan. 31, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said in a press release. He was last seen Jan. 28 after he visited a "local adult establishment," the DA's office said. Prior to his death, Vasquez worked on a ship at the New Bedford Shipyard and Shoreline, the DA's office said. His boss reported him missing Jan. 30 after his vehicle was found in the shipyard's parking lot.
A State Police trooper was seriously injured Saturday after a car crashed into his police SUV on a Salisbury highway, State Police said. The trooper had stopped on I-95 South to remove a ladder from the roadway Saturday afternoon, the agency said in a press release. After he got back into his cruiser, another vehicle suddenly struck the trooper's car.

State Sen. Bruce Tarr struggled to keep his composure as he recited the names of the fallen: Captain Accursio "Gus" Sanfilippo, crew members Paul Beal Sr., Paul Beal Jr., John Rousanidis, Freeman Short, and Sean Therrien, and NOAA fisheries observer Jada Samitt.
