France technically spans more time zones than any other country due to its overseas territories. The European part exists entirely within one time zone.

The first round of local elections happens next Sunday (March 15th), with 34,000 communes, from tiny villages up to the major cities, heading out to elect the local mayors who play a huge part in shaping the life and infrastructure of each area.

But just five days later, in that same game, the United States could not get the job done, ultimately succumbing to Canada 3-2 in overtime. Almost a year later, that loss still stings. A lot.

"We have a golden retriever, and so I walk her three or four miles a day, and I do a weight training class twice a week," says Brown, 62, of Arlington, Va. She knows muscle mass will decline without regular strength training. "We have a fun group with a personal trainer and we call ourselves the Beastie Girls," she says, describing how her group helps her stick with it. She also plays tennis and golf.

They now face Germany to wrap up round robin play, with the second overall seed in tournament play up for grabs. It doesn't seem like they will get the top seed due to goal differential, as Canada has a 2 goal advantage with France up next. It's unlikely the Rangers are able to make up that differential against Germany. That's fine. Team USA has been shaky at times, especially in net, but it's more about how they play in the elimination tournament.

I'm just gonna go out there and ski as fast as I can and have a lot of fun. Success for me is knowing I skied my fastest.
