Robert Pattinson's self-admission of being a former pathological liar is both humorous and revealing, highlighting his complex relationship with truth-telling.
Corey Feldman stated, 'Personally, it felt a little bit like a family reunion I wasn't invited to. It is what it is. I just want to say that I'm with the rest of us, we're all very destroyed that things went down the way they did.'
"As part of this partnership, AEG will undertake comprehensive enhancements to the theater, including upgrades to its stage, sound and lighting systems, lobbies, backstage facilities and additional production-critical areas."
A catering business is really more difficult to run because you might be really busy for a week and then another week you have very little. Restaurants tend to have more consistent hours and traffic. Catering doesn't always work that way.
At the 98th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrities showed up with nails that were just as attention-grabbing as a perfectly executed red lip or Old Hollywood hairstyle. Some stars went all out with statement manicures to match their black-tie ensembles.
This is a story of a man's death. A guy who basically died of heartbreak at an opening night party. As soon as Linklater shared the script with me, I thought, A: it was one of the most blisteringly beautiful screenplays I'd ever read. And, B: I just loved this guy. I wanted to play him so badly.
Best documentary has become the toughest Oscar category to predict in recent years, especially when it comes to nominations. The documentary branch has become famously quirky in recent years, passing over such populist, acclaimed, and decorated titles as Won't You Be My Neighbor? , American Symphony, and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story . Past performance is no guarantee of success-I've even heard rumors that some voters will refuse on principle to nominate a film by a previous Oscar winner-and geography is not destiny.
Just two of the five Best Original Song nominees will be performed live at this year's Oscars ceremony in a move fans say reeks of favoritism. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences shared in a letter to music nominees that Golden from KPop Demon Hunters also tapped for Best Animated Feature Film and I Lied to You from Best Picture nominee Sinners are the only contenders that will be performed on March 15, according to the notice published by Variety.
In an inversion of the usual order of operations, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented its Film Award nominations a week after the Academy Award nominations. Looking at the list, there aren't too many differences from the Oscar lineup. Oscar-nominated actors Amy Madigan ( Weapons), Delroy Lindo ( Sinners), and Elle Fanning ( Sentimental Value) were left off the BAFTA ballot, so you can imagine the days of fretting we'd all have done for them had the BAFTA noms emerged first.
LOS ANGELES -- Oscar voters have spoken. They served up 16 nominations to "Sinners" and 13 to "One Battle After Another" on Thursday. Ryan Coogler was nominated for best director and best screenplay of "Sinners," a lush vampire tale, and double-duty star Michael B. Jordan was rewarded with his first Oscar nomination, for best actor. Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Teyana Taylor took acting accolades for "One Battle After Another."
During Thursday morning's Oscar nominations announcement, Sinners set a new record for the most Oscar nominations in history. The film collected sixteen nods that include Best Picture, Best Director for filmmaker Ryan Coogler, and Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan's dual role as twins who face down an onslaught of undead evil. One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value, and Marty Supreme and Frankenstein also racked up multiple nominations Thursday as the Academy Award contenders were announced.
"For me the reward has been all of it. Just getting the script done was a type of reward, my crew together was a type of reward, getting everybody to come to New Orleans, getting to share the screenplay, I shared it with Rosemary like I always do, getting good feedback from her. And then showing the movie to audiences, which is the biggest reward I could ask for," Coogler said.
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground.
Since 1976, the Oscars have aired on the Disney-owned ABC. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, that will change after the ceremony's 100th anniversary in 2028. Starting in 2029, the Oscars will be aired live and for free on YouTube, marking the first time a major Hollywood awards ceremony has been moved to streaming. It's become increasingly common for live sports to hit streaming platforms,
Shortly, the Oscar fate of hundreds of feature and short documentary hopefuls will be decided during what is known as "preliminary voting" (December 8-12), when the 736 documentary branch members give each film they've seen a numbered score. This will yield the shortlist of 15, from which they will rank those films on a preferential ballot. The shortlist announcement will come on December 16. The whole Academy will vote on the final five. But only those who have seen all five can vote.
