Thieves used a stolen telehandler to smash into a Co-Op wall, stealing two cash machines and a large sum of cash in Plympton. Police have released CCTV footage showing at least four people arriving in stolen vehicles on 2 February this year. The John Deere telehandler, left at the scene, can be seen ramming the Glen Road store multiple times before burglars removed a cash machine and drove off in the early hours.

Overnight in neighborhoods including Bath Beach, Gravesend, and Bensonhurst, at least 30 cars had airbags stolen, officials said. Airbags, which can cost $1,000 or more to replace at dealerships, are targeted by thieves because they sell for $50-$200 on the black market.
A couple initially expecting to pay less than 50 for a locksmith became victims of a "bait-and-switch scam" which ended up costing them more than 5,000, an investigation has found. The scam involves baiting a customer with an initial cheap quote before adding on hidden charges and carrying out unnecessary work that leads to spiralling costs. As part of the BBC's investigation, the company involved - 24/7 Locksmiths UK - was secretly filmed trying to charge up to 10 times the original quote for the job.
According to a social media post from the 120th Precinct, additional officers were brought in from other boroughs to Staten Island to assist with patrols over the weekend. This increase in manpower is in response to a series of break-ins this month that are specifically targeting residences with high-end vehicles parked in the driveway. According to investigators, the robberies happened over several weeks in December and followed a similar pattern.
