I know how it goes. If you lose those two games, I'm not in the conversation at all. I think we had two relatively-positive performances. Again, still so much about those that I'm not entirely happy about and want to keep improving on, but I think we've got things moving in a decent direction.
I think the defensive side of things has been a strength at times but in recent weeks that's gone out the window, they've been conceding goals for fun. In their last five games it's been at least two goals every game but what do you put that down to? And how hard is that going to be for him to turn around a team that this year is not scoring anywhere near enough when you look at some of the teams they are up against.
Wolves can only reach a maximum of 40 points this season and that would require the Molineux men winning each of their final 10 matches. Given Wolves have only won once in the top-flight this campaign, that would appear highly unlikely. Wolves' next three league games see them face back-to-back home matches against Aston Villa and Liverpool before a trip to Brentford.
We came to a tough place tonight, which we knew and we didn't really give ourselves a chance. The ingredients you need coming here, the real basics of the game, we fell way short. It surprised me. Tonight we were way short. I didn't see this performance coming, certainly where we've come from in terms of performances and the results we picked up.
Watford appointing a new head coach is not really new news. Watford having a third head coach in the same season is not really new news either, but Watford appointing Ed Still is definitely news. Having watched his brother Will succeed on the continent but then fail with Southampton in the Championship this season, it has not deterred the older sibling from stepping into the chaotic world of Vicarage Road.
