The latest entry in Capcom's horror series is coming out during its 30th anniversary, and while it is one of the most robust marriages of horror and action the series has ever put forth, I can't help but feel like it stumbles on its way to saying something more profound about its own legacy.
At the climax of the game, Grace is forced to make a decision between destroying or releasing something called Elpis. The choice is binary and not influenced by anything else you've done in the game up to that point, but what you choose to do will lead to one of two conclusions.
Once you're done watching the credits roll, you'll be back at the main menu. You'll notice that you've unlocked various goodies, including: Insanity Mode is a high difficulty option for those who want to test their skills. A behind-the-scenes video, concept art, and character model viewing. The Jacket costume for Grace and Leon, as well as the Tactical Light skin for Leon's Alligator Snapper weapon.
Capcom's Resident Evil Requiem Showcase didn't reveal much about the story, but it did go into detail about how the game will change depending upon which character you're playing, and the title will also introduce new difficulty settings to the franchise. The new heroine, Grace Ashcroft, will represent a more classic, horror-focused approach to gameplay, similar to Resident Evil 2 and 6.
