The new checks, part of the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES), collect digital personal records of third country nationals travelling to the Schengen area and replace the manual stamping of passports.
United is raising first and second checked bag fees by $10 for customers traveling in the US, Mexico, and Canada and Latin America beginning with tickets purchased Friday, April 3.

Low-cost carriers have to earn money too, and they often do so with significant add-on fees, which can drive that seemingly low price to new heights. Just look at Spirit Airlines as a prime example. The carrier revealed in its 2024 earnings report that its average fare revenue was $45.02 per ticket; however, it also reported earning an additional $63.44 in 'non-ticket revenue,' aka fees.
The long-awaited government move to scrap the cap at Dublin Airport has little immediate impact on leisure travellers but will incense environmental groups, some locals and even farming bodies whose members resent being told to cut their emissions.

As part of a bill to strengthen rights for passengers, MEPs have swung behind proposals to allow passengers to take one personal item, such as a handbag, backpack or laptop, as well as a piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg (15lbs) and with combined dimensions of 100cm (39in). The case alone would be bigger than the current maximum permitted free cabin item on Ryanair and others.
Ryanair stated that the scrapers provide shoppers with outdated or inaccurate information (such as little to no mention of Ryanair's infamous hidden charges which are at least outlined in the official website). Furthermore, the customer details are rarely passed onto the airline meaning it cannot contact them if there's any change in the flight manifest.
Many of the lowest fares came from regional and secondary airports rather than the country's largest hubs. That's partly because smaller airports operate a little differently, with lower costs, fewer delays, and more low-cost carrier routes. And now, flight compensation site AirAdvisor has looked at data from the Civil Aviation Authority to reveal the cancellation rates across 20 of the UK's biggest airports in 2025. It also compared it to their rates in 2024 to figure out where cancellations are easing, and where they're getting worse.
