A registered sex offender was arrested in an undercover sting for attempting to meet someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
Brutus, N.Y. - State Police last week set up a sting after a Central NY resident reported being scammed out of $18,500 and the scammer was coming back for more. Troopers were waiting, and when the New York City man arrived to collect $22,400, he was arrested, the State Police announced in a news release Wednesday. Xueye Luo, 43, was charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny, according to Trooper Lynnea Crane, a spokesperson for State Police.
DUBLIN A Daly City resident has been charged with two felonies after he allegedly showed up to a meeting with an undercover cop who had been posing as a 13-year-old girl online, court records show. Ricardo Alan Jimenez, 31, was charged with arranging a sexual meeting with a minor, and contacting a minor with intent to commit a sex crime, both felonies. He has been released from jail after posting $100,000 bail, court records show.
A Long Island elementary school teacher is under investigation after he was busted allegedly admitting on camera to sexting a 13-year-old girl and asking for sexually explicit photos. The Wading River Elementary School teacher, who hasn't been identified publicly by cops, was immediately suspended Wednesday after the allegations surfaced. The teacher allegedly made the confession during an undercover sting spearheaded by the Predator Poachers Long Island vigilante group.
