In a deposition last Friday before the House Oversight Committee, the former president said he could recall sending only two emails in his entire life. He said he sent an email to former US senator John Glenn when the former NASA astronaut was "in space at age 77" and an email to US military members aboard a ship in the Adriatic Sea during the Kosovo War.

WASHINGTON -- Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finalized an agreement with House Republicans Tuesday to testify in a House investigation into Jeffrey Epstein this month, bowing to the threat of a contempt of Congress vote against them. Hillary Clinton will testify before the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 26 and Bill Clinton will appear on Feb. 27. It will mark the first time that lawmakers have compelled a former president to testify.
I wouldn't have described former special counsel Jack Smith that way; maybe "depressed." But maybe that's projection. Smith has been defiantly asking House Republicans to let him testify publicly about his investigations and indictments of Donald Trump. On Thursday, rather unexpectedly, they allowed it. Also unexpectedly, he did not seem defiant. He seemed resigned to the futility of his cause, and the likelihood that he and his colleagues would continue to be persecuted, if not prosecuted, for their work.
