We got back together. We wrote some new songs. We set up our gear in an empty library in our hometown and a remote barn in Cumbria to record ourselves. What we made is called Logbook and it comes out 22nd May 2026.
The new album Everything Must Go arrives on April 24 via Bad Time Records and Community Records, and first single 'Free Dom' is out now. It finds Bad Operation doing what they do best, fusing 2 Tone's influence with fresh, urgent new ideas and coming out with something danceable, catchy, and powerful.
When he's not making proggy folk as a solo artist, Richard Dawson gets his skronk on as part of proggy new-wave art-rock group Hen Ogledd. Despite my attempts to do so in the previous sentence, the band are hard to succinctly describe: they can pivot from warm synthpop to mossy faerie folk to baggy Manchester shuffle beats to dense prog and even flashes of hip hop. Hen Ogledd are weird, but also welcoming.
Dream Fatigue is a new-ish Massachusetts band launched by former Fleshwater/Vein drummer Matt Wood and fronted by Jonali McFadden, and they make shoegazy alt-rock that's not too different from what Matt was doing in Fleshwater. They released their debut LP The Lady In The Sky in 2024, and now they announced a new seven-song EP, No Requiem, due February 13 via DAZE ( pre-order).
It's a true dream to put out a single on Sub Pop, and our new song 'Masks' hopefully honors the spirit of the mythical, sometimes mystical, city of Seattle. Thanks in part to the movie Hype, we have long been obsessed with Seattle, the American underground of the late '80s, and Sub Pop and their tools of world domination. Everything we learned about packaging Chat Pile, we learned from Sub Pop co-founders Jonathan Poneman and Bruce Pavitt.
"Certainty" is certainly one of the best songs by Black Veil Brides to date. Forget that this is the same band from their 2010 debut album We Stitch These Wounds, because this doesn't sound anything like that, nor is it remotely screamo. Rather, we get high caliber melodic metalcore with some nice alt-rock inflections via the clean singing of vocalist Andy Biersack. He sounds equally strong during the harsh, chuggy parts here, as well.
When Braid broke up, guitarist/secondary vocalist Chris Broach formed The Firebird Band, and the remaining three members - frontman Bob Nanna, bassist Todd Bell, and drummer Damon Atkinson - recruited guitarist Mark Dawursk of Alligator Gun and continued on as Hey Mercedes. They recorded it with Jawbox's J. Robbins, who had also produced Braid's classic 1998 swan song Frame & Canvas, and in many ways, it picked up where Frame & Canvas left off.

Three singles are out from it now, including Used To Be (which we named one of the best punk & emo songs of November) and the newly-released Diversion, which you can listen to below.
Bleachers are back with another new album. The band's fifth studio LP, Everyone for Ten Minutes, is out May 22 via Dirty Hit. Their lead single, "You and Forever," is out now along with an Alex Lockett-directed music video starring Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff. In the clip, the Bleachers singer paces around the city while taking punches and crawling in the rain, while Qualley dances across her apartment and plays with a tiny dog. Watch it below.
Shows are in May and Jun, with support from Cloud Nothings; We wouldn't be a band today without them and we couldn't be more excited, they say. They'll also have Anthers, University, fanclubwallet, Liquid Mike and Pure Hex each joining them varying by show, and you can see all dates below.
