After performing on Friday (6 February) in the Ice Dance - Rhythm Dance event, Canada's Paul Poirier and Piper Gilles' routine circulated around the internet filling multiple feeds. The pair danced to a mash up of RuPaul's "Supermodel (You Better Work)" and Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy". And when we say it's stunning, it's stunning! The program is full of death defying twirls, lifts, and jumps. There's some hairography and even a bit of voguing before the routine closes as RuPaul demands: "You better work."
MILAN -- The new French ice dance team of Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron upset the dominant team of the past four years, American stars Madison Chock and Evan Bates, and claimed Olympic gold at the Milan Cortina Games on Wednesday night. LIVIGNO, Italy -- Japanese snowboarder Yuto Totsuka won the Olympic gold medal in men's halfpipe at the Milan Cortina Games on Friday as Scotty James repeated as the silver medalist. Totsuka laid down a massive second run that earned him 95 points. James had the last run of the final after he topped qualifying Wednesday. But the Australian fell near the end of his run, failing to improve on his second-run score of 93.50.
On a mid-December Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, Alex and Maia Shibutani are unlinking their heads from a single interlocked position, like a life-size Lego build coming apart. The Shib Sibs, as the brother-sister duo are affectionately known in the ice dance community, are taking their Bustle photo shoot very seriously, game to try different poses as the dulcet sounds of Olivia Dean play in the background.
The Milan Cortina Winter Olympics may be winding down, but the memories will linger for years to come. The competition began on Wednesday, February 4, with the official opening ceremony on Friday, February 6. A little more than two weeks later, the Games will conclude with an epic closing ceremony on Sunday, February 22. So much action was packed into the event that it was a full-time job keeping up.
