Briefly

Who are we really designing for?
"The User is a single person with their own psychological lens, their own biases, and their own behavioural patterns and limitations. Their goals are unique and not necessarily aligned with business needs."
"To make sense of this individual complexity, our craft has developed tools of abstraction. The most common is the Persona. However, as I've argued in the past, the persona is a dangerous tool."
The distinction between the individual User and the collective Customer is crucial for effective design. The User represents a single person with unique goals and biases, often misaligned with business needs. Tools like Personas, while useful, can oversimplify and misrepresent the User's complexity. This ambiguity between User and Customer can lead to misunderstandings in design priorities, emphasizing the need for clarity in addressing both entities' needs.
