Hotel lobbies in NYC can serve as effective remote workspaces with the right ambiance and amenities.
The mansion is so iconic and instantly recognizable, but it was definitely ready for an upgrade. The bones were always there, but the house needed to evolve the way the show has evolved—more layered, and reflective of how people actually live and gather now.
Country Club Plaza area is one of the best neighborhoods to stay in when visiting Kansas City as a first-time visitor. Modeled after Seville, Spain, it's packed with fountains, Spanish-style architecture, and high-end shopping- plus there's easy access to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.
Some of the 3D scans were done in collaboration with Japan's national broadcaster NHK. A voluptuous Neolithic marble, a model Nayarit home from ancient Mesoamerica, Claude Monet's 1891 painting "Haystacks (Effect of Snow and Sun)" - these are among the items in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection that are now available to the public as high-quality 3D scans.
For the traveler who finds romance in a curved wall, chases good lighting, and believes a space should quietly seduce, a good design-led vacation rental is the destination as much as the location around it. These are homes chosen for how they look, feel, and linger in our memory-where architecture, interiors, and setting shape the experience of travel itself. Across the sun-washed corners of Italy, Spain, Portugal, and beyond, today's most compelling rentals are as

If you're an art deco architecture geek, you'll no doubt know all about Ibex House. The shimmering pale office building, which you'll find on the east side of the Minories in the City, is renowned for its long streamline moderne curves and mesmerising black-framed windows. The vast H-shaped structure is Grade II-listed and one of London's most remarkable surviving art deco buildings.
Emin shot to fame in the 1990s as one of the Young British Artists challenging the very nature of what art could be through raw, conceptual and frequently sensational works. Her most famous early installation, My Bed - featuring Emin's real bed, strewn with dirty sheets and surrounded by personal detritus - will be on display, alongside video works, textiles, neons, writing, sculptures and the paintings that now dominate her practice.
Once upon a time, themed restaurant chains ruled America's dining scene. Planet Hollywood gave us a taste of fame, Harley Davidson Cafe let us live on the wild side, and Rainforest Cafe took us on a tropical adventure. But today, as minimalism dominates restaurant design, the dining experience often feels nearly identical from one chain to the next. Just look at one of the country's most popular old-fashioned franchises, Cracker Barrel, nearly unrecognizable after modernizing its iconic look.
The inaugural Kentucky Bourbon Country Auction & Celebration (KBCA) is rolling into town February 13-15, 2026, and it's not just another whiskey weekend. This is a three-day celebration of America's native spirit timed perfectly with the nation's 250th anniversary, and every dollar raised goes to supporting veterans, first responders, and their families through the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Translation? You can bid on rare bottles, sip once-in-a-lifetime pours, and help fund mental health care, housing assistance, and employment services for the people who've served our country.
On a recent two-week trip to Japan with my fiancé - six cities, six hotels - every stay was gorgeous and perfectly appointed. We wanted for nothing. Except, in most cases, a proper bathroom door. Instead, we spent the better part of two weeks making accidental eye contact through frosted glass and translucent panels while one of us was otherwise occupied. A design choice, apparently. A test of intimacy, definitely.
The hotel is located on the historic Queenhithe Dock on the Thames, a natural inlet where Alfred the Great arrived in 886 to rebuild the city after it was abandoned by the Romans. Queen Matilda was granted the dues from the dock in the early 12th century, hence the name Queenhithe. Nowadays, the Westin London City is a perfect spot for visiting theatres and museums it has a spectacular view over Shakespeare's Globe and Tate Modern, which are just across the river.
No doubt a response to the extreme digital connectivity of the world, but small and secret hotels have never felt more appealing than right now. The ultimate antidote to the 'see and be seen' scene. Extreme exclusivity is the name of the game here - where there's no waiting times for check-in, no scrounging around for a sun lounger, and staff greet you like family.
