Intel's stock has surged nearly 130% under CEO Lip-Bu Tan, signaling a potential comeback in the chip industry.
Intel hasn't made it easy to buy a flagship desktop chip. The company's 2022 and 2023 Raptor Lake chips ran hot, power-hungry, and had those infamous crashes, while 2024's Arrow Lake-based Core Ultra 9 285K had lackluster gaming performance that the company has tried to address with updates.
Apple claims that its 2026 models can deliver "up to 2x" the sustained read and write speeds of the M4 Pro and Max laptops. In our testing, the 4TB SSD in the 16-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro bore that out: our unit could sustain a 13.6GB/s read speed and an even higher 17.8GB/s write speed.
The M5 Pro and M5 Max are no longer monolithic chips with all the CPU and GPU cores and everything else packed into a single silicon die. Using an 'all-new Fusion Architecture' like the one used to combine two Max chips into a single Ultra chip, Apple now splits the CPU cores (and other things) into one piece of silicon, and the GPU cores (and other things) into another piece of silicon.
The market is filled with external storage solutions designed to free up space by offloading larger files. The prices mainly depend on the capacity and performance. Some start at just $50, while higher-capacity options often sit well over $200. If you want plenty of storage without compromising on the speeds, the Kingston XS2000 2TB high-performance SSD is one of the top options out there.
On paper, Positron's next-gen Asimov accelerators, no doubt named for the beloved science fiction author, don't look like much of a match for Nvidia's Rubin GPUs. Yet, the Arm-backed AI startup boasts its inference chip will churn out five times as many tokens per dollar while using one-fifth the power of Nvidia's latest accelerators to do it. Those are certainly some bold claims, which the company contends are possible because the chip was designed to support large-scale inference workloads.
The big new feature in the Galaxy S26 Ultra is Privacy Display. It uses pixel-level light control to reduce the screen visibility at an angle. Technically, it uses something called Flex Magic Pixel tech to direct light per pixel, reducing visibility at off-angles. It's truly impressive, and we haven't seen something like it in the office before.
The RedMagic 11 Air uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, as confirmed by a Geekbench run of a device with the model number NX799J. This is most likely the RedMagic 11 Air. The prototype which ran the benchmark has 16GB of RAM, but of course more memory options could be offered upon launch (in fact, up to 24GB was rumored). The phone will run Android 16 from day one, unsurprisingly.
Motorola launched the G15 entry-level 4G-only smartphone in December of 2024 and then finally released it last February, so you wouldn't be wrong for thinking it's now high time for a successor to show up. And Motorola appears to be thinking the same way, as it's working on the G17. An FAQ page for the G17, regarding inserting or removing a SIM card, is already live on Motorola's US support site,
I've grown accustomed to being impressed by Geekom products. You might not know the name, but it has produced some pretty impressive small form factor desktops, many of which I've reviewed. Also: I converted this Windows 11 mini PC into a Linux workstation - and didn't regret it Now, the company has hopped into the laptop market, and I'm glad it did.
If you are in the market for a new Apple laptop, it can be confusing to choose the one that suits your needs. After all, the company recently released an all-new 14-inch base MacBook Pro powered by its latest M5 processor. It is more powerful than the $999 (currently $750) but not as formidable as the more expensive M4 Pro and M4 Max-powered machines.
With this setup, the Samsung SSD achieved read speeds of roughly 4,000 MB/s and write speeds of about 1,300 MB/s. Those are great numbers. Accessing files felt instantaneous. It took no time at all to open the movie I stored inside the drive. The read speed also shows that the enclosure isn't restricting the drive. It's making full use of the Thunderbolt connection. Writing large files is equally impressive, letting users save big files fast.
The Nothing Phone (4a) has run the Geekbench AI benchmark today. The phone has the model number A069, runs Android 16, and the prototype running the benchmark has 12GB of RAM, though we assume there will be lower amounts of memory offered as well.
The iQOO 15 Ultra is getting official on February 4, and the brand has already revealed a few details about it. Today, a device that is rumored to be the iQOO 15 Ultra has been spotted in the Geekbench database with the model number V2546A. As you can see from the screenshot below, it managed a single-core score of 3,601 and a multi-core score of 11,434 in Geekbench 6.5 for Android.
When I go for a laptop, I typically prefer those in the 13- to 14-inch range. Every once in a while, however, I test a 16-inch laptop that makes me rethink my stance on size. Such was the case with the Geekom Geekbook X16 Pro . Although it might look a bit on the generic side, it's actually far nicer than its appearance would imply.
What is identical to the previous generation is the display. Up top, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra has a 16-inch, AMOLED 3K touchscreen. It has the same peak HDR brightness of 1,000 nits, the same adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and the Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC for added durability. This isn't a knock against Samsung; the company clearly recognized the display was one of the Galaxy Book5 Pro's best features, and brought it back.
