An Abington man was arrested Friday morning after police say he attempted to set fire to the Abington Police Chief's cruiser outside department headquarters. Authorities said that around 9 a.m., a lieutenant spotted the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Franklin Cederholm, pouring gasoline on the chief's marked cruiser parked right outside the station at 215 Central St. Surveillance video released by the Abington Police Department shows a man approaching the SUV and pouring liquid onto the driver's side of the vehicle.
SAN BRUNO - A shooting and fire are under investigation in San Bruno, police said. The incident was reported just after 3:30 p.m. Friday at a two-story home in the 100 block of Keefe Court, a cul-de-sac located off Rosewood Drive, according to the San Bruno Police Department. Additional details about the incident were not immediately available. In an update around 5:15 p.m., police said the scene was still active and asked the public to avoid the area. The first blaze broke out shortly before 6 p.m. Friday at 301 Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York, where members of the 15th Division arrived to find heavy fire on the first floor and extension to the second. Engine Company 290 and Ladder Company 103 knocked back the flames, and the fire was declared under control at 6:45 p.m.
