Croatian government has finalized a EUR 163 million national program supporting the procurement of 206 electric buses for public urban and suburban transport across 17 cities and municipalities. The Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure confirmed (as r eported on Balkan Green Energy News) that seventeen local authorities have been awarded EUR 143 million in subsidies for electric bus procurement, with the total investment value reaching EUR 163 million.

England will face Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L of the 2026 World Cup. The draw was eventually made in Washington DC, US on Friday evening, with the Three Lions marked as a Pot 1 team and thus earning top spot in their group. Croatia, who faced England in the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, will once again go up against their European partners and hope they can come out on top again.

They have not qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals since 2006, but they have played in the UEFA European Championships since 1996. The Czech Republic reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2020 and the semi-finals at UEFA Euro 2004. Ivan Hasek's side have done well in UEFA Group L so far.

Operation Oluja (Storm) commenced from August 4 to 7, 1995, during which Croatian forces successfully recaptured the Krajina region, previously seized by Serbs. The assault lasted only 85 hours, reclaiming a significant portion of Croatia’s territory. The aftermath saw changes in the Bosnian war dynamics, breaking the Serbian siege on Bihac and allowing Croatian and Bosnian forces to reclaim territory, leading to a reduction of Serbian-held territory from 70% to 49%.

The trip is run by UltraSwim 33.3, a new company named after the Channel stretch, offering multiday swim challenges in spectacular locations with an emphasis on comfort and support.

"We've seen an 800 percent increase in demand for stays in Croatia so far this year," Edward Frampton-Fell shared with Travel + Leisure. While the Split Riviera, Dubrovnik, and Hvar remain top picks, Frampton-Fell noted that surprising destinations like Korčula are now firmly in the spotlight.
