The building, an office block with shops on the ground floor, is at the eastern end of Oxford Street, just north of Soho Square, and sits above the possible route of the Crossrail 2 railway, if/when it is eventually built.
South London footie fans, pay attention: Southwark Council has officially approved plans to refurbish Dulwich's historic Champion Hill football stadium. The council has given the green light to plans that will see Dulwich Hamlet FC's old stadium transformed into a new 4,000-seat ground with a brand-new pitch and modern facilities. The footie club has been based in the borough for 123 years, and the new stadium is expected to secure the future of the team for years to come.
Despite the poor spell with the North London club, he has shown his quality in the Premier League with Brentford, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the Eagles. Frank has previously been vocal about his admiration for Crystal Palace. During his time at Brentford, he showered praise on the Eagles for their consistency despite limited resources and how difficult it is to face them, especially at Selhurst Park.
The new trains are the first of a fleet of 94 new trains being built in Yorkshire at the moment, and will eventually replace the Piccadilly line's existing 50-year old rolling stock. However, before passengers can ride the new trains, they need hundreds of hours of testing and assurance that they will work as expected. And testing has been underway ever since the first train arrived in London last year.
PA A major hurdle has been cleared in Crystal Palace's long-planned redevelopment of Selhurst Park with the completion of the purchase of six houses next to the stadium. The properties on Wooderson Close, a road south of the ground, will be prepared for demolition after the residents were rehoused. Croydon Council mayor Jason Perry welcomed the housing sales, saying the money raised would fund new replacement council homes.
There are minor delays on the Piccadilly line due to train cancellations. Elsewhere, there is no service between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction, Elmers End or New Addington. Replacement buses are running but will not serve Lebanon Road.
