Iceboxes were large lined, insulated wooden cupboards built to store ice, food, and drinks. The ice would usually be placed on the upper shelf, with the food and drinks below, and the cool air from the melting ice would help to keep everything nice and chilled.

The building is conceived as four independently functioning households for approximately 60 residents, fully barrier-free, emphasizing independence and accessibility for the elderly.

"The clients are a family of five who were already living in the Barcelona flat but wanted to give it new character through the redesign of the kitchen and bathrooms," says Muñoz. "Our focus was to update the spaces while maintaining continuity with the rest of the apartment, which has a lot of personality thanks to the clients."

When Kiri Sulke began dating her now husband, Phillip, in New York in 2014, she was immediately drawn to the real estate developer and artist. "I trusted him straight away," recalls the Australian-born lawyer turned writer and yoga instructor. "He is incredibly honest and unafraid to show his emotions and be vulnerable." She also quickly sensed that Phillip does nothing halfheartedly-a scrupulousness he confirmed not long after, when he mentioned searching for a weekend escape from his Tribeca apartment.
