The headlines of 2025 painted a portrait of America in chaos, driven by the financial logic of America's media ecosystem. It's number one product isn't news, but fear. "NYC youth crime doubled since controversial state Raise the Age Law kicked in," exclaims one hysterical New York Post headline from September. "Business owners express frustration over crime surge in Federal Hill," reads a banner from FOX45 News, a local outlet in Baltimore.

Newly released surveillance video shows how one of several overnight store robberies unfolded, and investigators say the same group may be behind all of them. The video obtained by News 12 comes from a store at 125 Kingston Ave. It shows two masked men walking up to the counter. One holds out a plastic bag, pointing it like a gun. The worker opens the register and places cash into an open bag.

From Nov. 8-9, 114 vehicles were burglarized at apartment complexes, police said in a press release. A 21-year-old Swedish man accused of being a key organizer of violence-as-a-service linked to the Foxtrot criminal network, which police say has recruited and exploited minors, has been arrested in Iraq. The suspect, whose name has not been released, is wanted on several charges including instigated murder, instigated attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder, according to the Swedish Police Authority.

Subway crime was down 4% in 2025 compared to the previous year, but felonies on the rails rose slightly in December, according to NYPD subway crime data.
