Five-minute morning yoga routines can effectively enhance awareness and set a positive tone for the day.
This yoga for back tightness practice starts with lying on your back. You'll take some simple but dynamic movements. Throughout the rest of the practice, you'll experience twists, forward folding, backbending, side stretching, and working all the areas of the spine-without needing to stand up.
Begin standing at the top of your mat in Mountain Pose. Stand tall here for 8 full cycles of breath. Upward Salute Use your next inhalation to sweep your arms up overhead in Upward Salute. Standing Forward Bend Exhale as you hinge forward at your hips into Standing Forward Bend. Halfway Lift Inhale to slide your hands up your shins to a flat back in Halfway Lift.
This 10-minute morning yoga class is one of my more popular practices. It's a strength-based yoga practice that not only focuses on helping you build strength but also challenges you to find your body-brain connection. Essentially, it helps you become strong not only in your movements but in your mind. And you can practice it any time of day that you have time.
This 10-minute morning yoga practice is a mix of strengthening, stretching, balancing, and breathing. Because it's more of a strength-based practice, it requires a more than a little effort from you first thing in the morning. And because it's a short practice, it's a little fast-paced to fit a lot into 10 minutes. It includes some dynamic movement and playful corework along with a standing sequence that stretches and strengthens you in all the ways you need.
