In the age of smart fobs and transponder chips, losing your keys isn't just a minor inconvenience; it can feel like a high-tech lockout from your own life. When the realization settles in, the clock starts ticking. Your first instinct might be to call the dealership, but that often leads to a massive towing bill and a multi-day wait for parts.
A speed limiter is a built-in system that determines the maximum speed at which an electric bike's motor will continue to assist the rider. Once the bike reaches a certain speed, the motor gradually reduces power or stops assisting altogether. This system is controlled by the bike's controller, the small onboard computer that manages the motor, battery, and sensors.
"We decided the leadership was so unpredictable, anything could happen," he said, adding that tariff volatility made long-term commitments difficult. "If the tariff goes up to 25 per cent and we become uncompetitive, the whole store proposition is at risk," he said. "I'm not going to sign a five-year lease in this environment." His comments follow a US Supreme Court ruling that many of the tariffs introduced since 2024 were unlawful. However, the administration subsequently confirmed a temporary 10 per cent global tariff, later raised to 15 per cent, adding to market uncertainty.
Yes-you can buy a quality bike on Amazon, if you choose the right bike type, avoid "too-cheap-to-be-true" builds, and buy from a brand with real support. Amazon isn't the problem. Bad components, poor sizing choices, and bargain-bin bikes are the problem.
With a 4:1 mechanical advantage, the hoist can easily lift bikes up to 70 lbs, giving you actual walking lanes between cars or freeing up access around your workbench. The setup is meant to be simple: locate a ceiling stud, mount the hardware, and use the included straps to secure the bike at its frame and front wheel. Pull the rope, and up it goes, while you anchor the rope to the wall cleat. It really is that straightforward.
Stolen electric bikes built around Bosch motors will be harder to sell, service, and ride at the end of January. That's when Bosch is rolling a new digital theft feature that lets owners mark the bike as stolen in the Bosch Flow app - no subscription required. Bosch rolled out a similar feature for expensive Bosch batteries last year, but it stupidly required a subscription to Flow Plus.
She said people "just couldn't believe" cars were being broken into just for the shelves. The Met Police opened an investigation following a number of parcel shelves being stolen from cars in Hampstead and Highgate, the force said. Sam Phipps Phipps told BBC Radio London her car was targeted despite only having her gym bag, out of sight, in the boot.
Home security has become a growing concern for UK households, and in 2026, many homeowners are taking a closer look at something that's often overlooked: their door locks. While alarms, cameras and lighting tend to dominate conversations around home security, experts are increasingly pointing to door locks as one of the most important - and vulnerable - parts of a property's defenses. As burglary methods evolve and older hardware struggles to keep up, upgrading door locks is quickly becoming a priority rather than an afterthought.
Three men have been charged with armed robbery of a Rolex store in central London. The suspects allegedly entered the Bucherer boutique store in Knightsbridge just before 11:00 GMT on 20 January, threatened staff and customers with weapons then made off with high value watches, the Metropolitan Police said. Dean Dinan, 29, of Islington, Elliot Campbell, 31, of Islington, and Dyllan Gowie, 27, of Tower Hamlets are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Friday.
According to Specialized's safety notice, "The fork steerer tube on affected bikes may develop a small fatigue crack which depending on use could lead to a progressive failure of the fork, posing a fall hazard." The notice applies to all Turbo Como SL 4.0 and 5.0 models with either belt or chain drives. Affected e-bikes were sold starting in 2021 and continuing up to the present.
The Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) has solved many problems. If you've ever had a cycling weekend cut short due to a bent or broken derailleur hanger and not been able to find a replacement, you know what I'm talking about. The UDH eventually gave way to SRAM's direct-mount derailleurs, both electronic and mechanical. However, these direct-mount derailleurs posed challenges for some indoor trainers, often requiring users to fiddle with tricky adapters or ditch them altogether.
