Jornet's well-publicized States of Elevation project in 2025 was a feat in human endurance, mountain running, and planning. Starting on September 3, he linked 72 of the 14ers in the contiguous U.S in a human-powered fashion - on foot and bike - with a support crew following him and helping with logistics. He started with the 14,259-foot Longs Peak in Colorado, then went on to California and north to Washington, finishing on the 14,410-foot Mount Rainier.
Former World Tour pro turned KOM hunter, YouTube, and social media star, Phil Gaimon, just reclaimed the KOM on Mauna Kea. On the Big Island of Hawaii, the Mauna Kea climb is considered one of the toughest road climbs in the world, ascending 13,762 vertical feet over 55.59 miles from sea level to the observatories on the summit. Gaimon, who has been posting updates from Hawaii for the past week or so, announced the success of his KOM attempt yesterday, on his 40th Birthday.
The Saucony Run Shoreditch Half will debut on Sunday September 20, 2026 - and it's from the same people who're behind the Hackney Half. The event began last year as a 10k, with runners starting in Shoreditch Park, winding through the boroughs of Hackney and Islington, then crossing the finish line back at the park. We don't know exactly what the half marathon route will look like yet, but we do know that it'll also start and end at Shoreditch Park.
GOODLIFE Nutrition is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, the home of Gravel Worlds, and is completely sponsoring the massive $150,000 prize purse. While it is already one of the marquee events on the gravel circuit, the $150,000 payout makes Gravel Worlds the largest single-day prize purse in gravel racing. This is a major investment from the sports nutrition brand GOODLIFE Nutrition and a milestone for the event and, arguably, for the sport of gravel racing itself.
On day five of an eight-day, 500-mile mountain bike race in Africa, Piers Constable found himself sprawled in the dirt for the second time. First he'd crashed on his left side, then on his right, until he was, in his own words, "muddied and bloodied," staring at a bike that was very much broken. He remembered a feed station a couple miles away and realized he had two choices: quit or run. He picked up the bike and ran.
There was heavy snow, ice, rain, and wind in the days leading up to the race. This is a long one, and so it's really early. Last year's men's race was won in 82 hours, and the first-place woman completed the adventure in 87 hours. At the time of this writing on Sunday, Eugeni Roselló Solé (Spain) leads the men, and Johanna Antila (Finland) is in front of the women's race.
the 2026 Magical Kenya Mountain and Trails Series put on a show on January 17 with the fifth edition of the Barng'etuny Mountain Run in the Tinderet region of Nandi County, Kenya. The 21-kilometer senior race was just one part of a weekend of festivities that included the Taptengelei Cultural Festival, which offered a variety of opportunities for participants to engage with locals and learn about the culture. More than 2,000 participants were expected across various categories at the event.
WOLF'S FANG RUNWAY in Antarctica ranks among the most desolate, unwelcoming places on the planet, where even on a springtime day, 20 degrees Fahrenheit is about as warm as it gets. Bracing against an icy wind-chill blast that made it feel closer to zero, 54 runners stepped off their wide-body charter plane on Nov. 16 and steeled themselves for the 26.2 miles of marathon hell ahead.
