ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations team in New York has repeatedly moved to apprehend noncitizens whom federal judges have ordered removed, often after local jurisdictions decline to honor detainers.

Officers are reminding people to keep headphone volume low so they can hear what is happening around them, keep bags zipped and held close to the body, and tuck phones, wallets and other valuables into interior pockets where they are tougher to snatch.

"Scarface" actress Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio looked like any other New Yorker while riding the subway in the West Village recently. The actress, 67, went unnoticed as she took a seat, wearing jeans, a puffer jacket, earmuffs and mittens, while holding a shopping bag. Mastrantonio made her Broadway debut as an understudy in the 1980 revival of "West Side Story" and three years later made her screen debut in "Scarface," playing Al Pacino's sister.

Newly released surveillance video shows how one of several overnight store robberies unfolded, and investigators say the same group may be behind all of them. The video obtained by News 12 comes from a store at 125 Kingston Ave. It shows two masked men walking up to the counter. One holds out a plastic bag, pointing it like a gun. The worker opens the register and places cash into an open bag.

According to investigators, the robberies happened over several weeks in December and followed a similar pattern. In one of the earliest cases, police say a man walking out of an Apple store on Flatbush Avenue on Dec. 5 had an iPad taken directly from his hand. No injuries were reported. Later in the month, on Dec. 22, police say a woman walking along State Street in Downtown Brooklyn had a bag containing an iPad taken from her. No serious injuries were reported.
