A driver was traveling east on 8th Street around 11:45 a.m. when they lost control of the vehicle and hit four pedestrians, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman. Janyla Amazing Haqq, 19, was charged in San Mateo County court Wednesday for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl in Daly City and taking her to Oakland to be forced into human trafficking. Prosecutors say Haqq convinced the girl and her male friend to get in a car with her and three strangers, when they proceeded to take the girl to International Boulevard in Oakland after dropping the boy off, who told the girl's mother. A Menlo Park resident was on his way to work this morning when a truck rammed into his yard, he told the Post. The truck's driver had a medical emergency and drove into the fences of three homes, stopping at his yard at 125 Oak Court at 10:25 a.m., Matt Burr, the "neighborhood pizza guy," said. A driver was rescued early Tuesday after their vehicle crashed about 200 feet down an embankment in Santa Rosa's Fountaingrove area, fire officials said. Santa Rosa Fire Department crews were dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. to a report of a solo vehicle collision near Hansford Court, according to Paul Lowenthal, the department's division chief and fire marshal. SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- The Santa Cruz Wharf has reopened to the public following a deadly crash. Just before 10 a.m. Saturday, a van drove through the railing and over the edge of the wharf into Monterey Bay. Divers found the van after 10 minutes, submerged upside down on its roof in about 30 feet of water.
A man was arrested late Tuesday night after crashing his vehicle into a security barrier outside the White House, prompting a swift lockdown and bomb squad response. The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that at approximately 10.37 p.m., an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate located at 17th & E St, NW, in Washington, DC. The individual was arrested and the vehicle was assessed and deemed safe, the agency added.
