Mocktails can be creatively crafted using Coca-Cola as a base, providing flavor and carbonation without alcohol.
"Our study confirmed that in an environment of loud noise, our sense of taste is compromised. Interestingly, this was specific to sweet and umami tastes, with sweet taste inhibited and umami taste significantly enhanced," Robin Dando, one of the study's authors, told the Cornell Chronicle after the study came out.
Owner Antonis Karagounis states, 'I'm trying to bring my nightlife experience from DC through all the years into something a little bit more sophisticated, but still vibrant for Arlington.'
A small splash can brighten the sweetness of corn and add a subtle herbal lift. It should enhance - not dominate. Think of it as a squeeze of lime, ever so popular in Mexican food, in spirit form.
But then the playoffs arrive, and you and I are reminded of what makes twilight football-outdoors and on grass-special. You start off in broad daylight as both teams fuck around for a quarter or two. Then the sun slowly begins to bleed away, taking all distractions along with it as it sinks below the horizon. Now we're in primetime, when everyone is watching. Now every player on the field is in the spotlight, and you, the viewer at home, are dialed in.
Used to strain ice and other ingredients out of shaken cocktails, a Hawthorne strainer is a small, flat, spoon-like gadget with holes plus a coiled spring around the edge. You simply fit it over the rim of a glass or shaker tin before pouring liquids through. It's essential for cleanly separating the cocktail from the ice without spilling or creating a mess during the pour.
Forget jarred salsa - the homemade stuff is way better. Whether you're putting out a spread of chips and dip or you want to top your tacos with something bold and flavorful, homemade salsa always does the trick. But you don't have to stick with the same-old, same-old salsa recipes you use time and time again. By switching up your ingredients (and, occasionally, your technique), you can reimagine all of your favorite recipes in countless, flavorful ways.
There is no environment more hostile to our senses than an airplane. In her book, Naglich explains how the recycled, stale cabin air dries out our noses and mouths, effectively muting our taste receptors. This means nothing tastes the way it should at 35,000 feet, so the cocktail you're making needs to be packed with flavorful components, otherwise it won't taste like much of anything.
A tequila girl is a state of mind. She's the "elite level of hot girl." She is always down. Her Instagram stories are tastefully blurry. She's the last one to leave the party, and the only one who doesn't seem at all hungover the next morning. Alix Earle, Kendall Jenner, and Doja Cat are all tequila girls - and who wouldn't want to embody them on a night out?
For the first time ever, Topo Chico Hard Margarita FAB is available in the brand's unmistakable glass bottle - bringing its iconic symbol into the world of full-flavor Margaritas FABs, it says. Made with real lime juice and added minerals for a crisp finish, the iconic vessel delivers the same balanced sweet-tart lime flavor fans love, now in a more premium, ready-to-enjoy experience, it adds. Before opening, drinkers are invited to "Flip Before They Sip" - a simple ritual printed directly on the bottle that encourages flipping to fully mix the real lime juice before that first refreshing sip, the company notes.
Triple Sec is the name for a category of dry orange liqueurs: it translates to "triple dry" in French. The other major family of orange liqueurs is Curaçao, which are sweeter (and sometimes blue, like in these Blue Curacao cocktails!). Within the Triple Sec category, you'll find a wide range of quality and price: check out my guide to Cointreau vs Triple Sec.
The signature spicy, savory taste of a bloody mary cocktail is a favorite for many. It's refreshing, easy to customize, and packed with tangy brightness, perfect for brunch time sipping, or perhaps enjoying as a restorative "hair of the dog" after a heavy night. Traditionally, a bloody mary consists of vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and celery salt,
Nipperkin - Not only does it feel like you're having a cocktail in your suspiciously wealthy and eccentric aunt's parlour, but every single drink here is so deftly judged. Their focus on British produce showcases unexpected flavours in classics, the view of the bartenders tempering ice lulls you into a doe-eyed daze, and the people watching would have given Jilly Cooper plentiful material.
